AIR LIQUIDE only asks for certain types of personal information when using the website.   • To provide online customer assistance tools and follow-up in connection with such technical assistance

AIR LIQUIDE also processes the personal data you provide in the course of your dealings and communications with us, such as your email exchanges, your discussions using tools and platforms provided by AIR LIQUIDE, or in connection with the virtual workspaces and collaborative tools used by Air Liquide. The purpose of such processing is to make these tools available, ensure and monitor their appropriate use, and ensure the security of the IT system and the confidentiality of the information it contains.

Passive personal information (data) collection

Some of the personal data stored on our server is provided by you voluntarily when you complete forms online, while other data are collected automatically.

In order to improve user browsing experience on our sites and for statistical analysis purposes, Air Liquide automatically collects certain data when you visit our sites:

  • Your IP address: an IP address is assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider so that you can access the web
  • The date and time you visit to the site and the pages you view
  • Your computer’s operating system and the internet browsing software used
  • Your login, if you browse restricted areas of the site
  • Your browsing history within Group websites and the duration of your connection

Transfer of Personal Data Outside the European Economic Area

All AIR LIQUIDE entities worldwide which have signed the “IntraGroup Agreement on Binding Corporate Rules”. These rules are recognized in section 72 of the POPI Act, and are binding. It ensures that where transborder data transfer takes place, such processing is in line with principles at par with, or stricter than local law (i.e. the POPI Act). Consideration must be had where the information of citizens of the EU’s information is processed. 

AIR LIQUIDE uses servers and systems that are based in South Africa for some of the personal information that it processes. However, as AIR LIQUIDE is part of a global group of companies (the “Group”), certain employee personal information is stored on a server that is hosted outside of South Africa’s borders. These entities are complying with rules that are similar to the POPI Act. Performance records can be accessed through the Group’s Talent Management System. Such information can only be accessed by local human resource personnel so authorised, and by overseas duly authorised central  HR Administrators for purposes of technical support, Key Performance Indicators consolidation, and maintenance. Excluded from these records that can be accessed by overseas designated employees of the Company, are Goals details, Performance records, career development wishes, development plans, transcripts, Curriculum Vitae.

Confidentiality of the Data Collected

AIR LIQUIDE uses your personal information exclusively for the specific purposes described above. The information that you provide to us will remain confidential and will be used only in connection with your relationship to AIR LIQUIDE and/or one of its affiliated companies as a customer; this information will never be released or sold to any third party for commercial or prospecting purposes.

Your Rights with Respect to Your Personal information (Data)

Pursuant to the  Protection of Personal Information Act No.4 of 2013  pertaining to the protection of personal information that is protected by both public and private bodies, you have the right to access, rectify, modify and delete all personal information (data) concerning you.

If you would like personal data you have provided to be changed or deleted, all you need to do is make a formal request to Air Liquide. You may also express your opposition to the processing of your personal data, provided it is based on serious grounds.
